Very Good Value

I agree with all the positive reviews displayed here. We stayed at the
Avenue for two nights (August 19-20). The hotel has got some parking space in the courtyard without any charge. Rather far from centre but the underground station FORUM is about 200 m. Nice and efficient staff: we were placed in a room on the first floor where there was some bad smell coming out from the bathrom (probably the pipes). After we complained, the staff upgraded us to a mini-suite on the fourth floor, without extra cost.
I would definItely come back to the Avenue next time I am in Copenhagen.
Avenue is great!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was really nice, modern. LCD TV was a nice touch.
Not a bad size - plenty of room for our big suitcases and H&M purchases. A few things were missing - ironing board, the mini-bar was empty - but we didn't miss them really, and I'm sure the former would have been brought up if we wanted.
The breakfast (included) was basic continental, but just perfect for us.
Staff were all friendly and accomodating.
Also, there was no real restaurant - a bar served appetizer-type food, but nothing fancy. We had sticker shock in general on our trip, and Copenhagen was no exception. We did find a great pizza place around the corner a few blocks from the hotel. A large pizza (takeout and eaten back at the hotel) was cheaper than the 6-pack of Carlsberg and Coke we bought on the way back!
The location was a bit of a hike from the touristy core, but the metro was close by, and the walking was fun. We walked around the lake/canal every day. Also, don't forget to explore the local neighborhood. When you leave the hotel, turn left, and then left again on the next block - lots of great looking places to eat like our pizza place.

A little off the beaten path, but the bus to downtown stops a few feet from the front door. Wonderful, fluffy duvets and heavenly pillows. The breakfast spread in the dining room was to die for! Danish ham, salami, cheeses, fresh bread, and butter cakes, as well as unlimited strong coffee was a great start to each morning. Staff was frriendly and helpful too. Highly recommend discovering this clean boutique hotel, What a deal!
Great comfort and high value

Hotel is very nicely appointed in a contemporary style. Rooms are larger than the usual European standard. Down filled comforters and very comfortable beds are a treat. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the downtown and Tivoli area. We always enjoy walking a city so this is never a major issue. Upon arrival at the Airport you can catch the bus across the street and it will take you within a block of the hotel. Cost is about $2.50 US per person and the bus ride is very comfortable. This hotel has an excellent breakfast and a quaint library and lounge. The contemporary decor is done in black and white with blonde wood furniture. Hotel staff are extremely accommodating and if you need to do laundry there is a self laundry service across the street. We would never hestitate to stay here again!

Unless you want to be spoke to like dirt do not stay here - the staff are rude, and want to change rooms 3 times over a weekend. The hotel is clean and tidy - if a little noisey - due to it's proximity to the rain road. breakfast is okay - if you can survive on bread and cheese - and don't mind eating around other peoples dirty plates. The main problem was the attitute of the staff - esp with the relocation of the rooms - as they had failed to book Twins for us. The main problem came when we were leaving and the attitiute we got when we asked for them to book us a hotel.

an extremely good hotel.
good location, not too long a walk from the city centre, and near interesting areas like norrebro and frederiksberg. plenty of supermarkets, takeaways, restaurants, cafes, shops, bars nearby.
lovely lounge/bar with phenomenally comfortable couches and a nice mega-relaxed atmosphere, if awful cheesy easy listening music (craig david was about as good as it got). lots of interesting books to flick through in the lounge.
friendly, helpful staff.
very tasty food, but the only choice of lunch/dinner is caesar salad or curry for some reason. absolutely superb breakfast though: fruit, croissant, pancake, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal.
the room was very nice, not big by any means, but also not cramped. good functional bathroom, excellent shower. v comfy bed. plenty of tv channels (none british): cnn, mtv, vh1, eurosport and various danish, swedish, german, norwegian, copenhagen channels (loads of football on, which is good) on a flatscreen.
lovely interior decor to the hotel, including even the lift.
Looked for Basil but did not find him !

We found our stay at the Avenue Hotel very enjoyable. The room was lovely and clean and as the others have said the beds were extremely comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was still well supplied when we attended 15mins before it finished. The bar area was very relaxing to sit and watch the world go by from the window.
The staff were efficient but I would not say over friendly but then we found that common place in Copenhagen - why do the Danes find it so difficult to smile ??
We also used the take out pizza place around the corner as there was not a great choice of restaurants on the door step.
If you can buy tickets for the airport bus( 27kr )use it as a taxi costs 250kr door to door.
Loved it

The Avenue Hotel is well appointed and very contemporary finish. Very relaxed feeling about it all and the staff were more than helpful. The rooms were great with plasma TV and huge comfortable bed. Only drawback was no bath, only shower. Would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the price as it was great value and close to the main centre.
