Sunrise is around 08:35 and sunset around 15:55 that early in January.

An interesting time to visit!

Almost definately cold! A good chance of precipitation in the form of rain or snow.

Few tourists though! A chance to negotiate hotel charges if you're staying in one!

Have fun!

Travel Tips for Copenhagen

Sun seekers

by solopes

We are blessed in Portugal by a bright sun during almost all the year. This makes us surprised by the ingenious solutions found in the north to... catch the sun. The advanced windows and balconies may be common to locals, but they call our attraction, and enhance the importance of our lucky weather.

The ultimate friendly city!

Stroll around Copenhagen as much as possible; don't limit yourself to one thing; combine art, water activities, shopping, the excursions and the nightlife into your trip and you'll have the best getaway ever. Just don't forget to sit down and have a drink at Nyhavn after a busy day of walking!

And don't think you're stuck to have-tos: hey, when I was there the Little Mermaid was off her pedestal again and I still managed to thoroughly enjoy myself :-) When I arrived in Copenhagen I felt as if I had come home: what with all the canals, cute old houses, ornate public buildings, bikes and people strolling everywhere it was just like Holland! But Denmark seems to offer it all with a bit more friendliness and sparkling clean environment.

The people were lovely and I was constantly charmed by the beautiful city and its genteel, sophisticated aura. I could definitely live here for a while!

stroll the streets and people-watch. Spend time in the Town Hall Square and feed the pigeons while munching on a sausage or sipping a beer.

Copenhagen is a walking city, so you have to go through the Stroget, or pedestrian-only street (actually, it changes its name several times between Tivoli and its terminus near Nyhavn). There are many shops and sights along the way. This picture was taken at the northern end near Tivoli Gardens.
