never again

the staff at the desk was hardly polite. We arrived at 2 p.m. and were informed taht our room would not be available before 4 p.m. At 4 p.m. we still had to wait for about 20 minutes to get our room. The room was dirty, 1 light bulb by the bed was broken, the minibar was miserable. Electric cables dangerously crossing the entrance to the bathroom, and there was so little space between the wall and the bed that we could not pull our suitcase but had to carry it over the bed. The hotel was quoted as a 4**** but it's hardly worth a 2** (and I am generous) but the rate was for a room in a 5*****!

Unique Quality: The only positive aspect is that the hotel is in the very center of town and that there is a very good pizzeria across the street.

Grand Hotel Copenhagen

This hotel is supposed to be a 4* hotel... Well...

I stayed a few nights in this hotel and it was very convenient because it is located just beside the train station and I had to take the train to go to work. I had a single room and it was TINY! It was also just accross from the elevator, so I could here people walking and talking while they waited for the elevator, which wasn't very nice...

The bathroom was even tinier and the whole bathroom seemed to be the shower : there was just a hole in the floor in the middle of the bathroom, so when I took a shower in the morning, the toilet, the sink, the whole bathroom floor would get wet... Not very convenient when you have to go back into the bathroom to brush your teeth (don't forget to take off your socks.........)

I don't know what the other rooms are like, but hopefully much nicer!

Unique Quality: The best thing about this hotel was that it was very close to the train station and that I had to take the train every day to go to work. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well and the staff at the reception were nice and helpful.

Great location, uninspired hotel

It supposedly rates 4 stars, but it most certainly is not what I'd view as a 4 star. It is really a 2.5 star at best unless you factor in location. Location is superb, right by the central train station and near the town squre.

The rooms are *small*. I was told I was in the Superior class room (out of 3: standard, superior, executive) and the room didn't have enough room on the side of the bed to pull my suitcase by. Rundown looking as well.

If you get it cheap (I paid 680kr all in) it's not bad as a base for your travels. Just don't expect more than it is. The staff was all very friendly.
