Very old
The hotel is indeed very central and close to the park. It is located in a very old building. As i don't like hotels breathing history and bordom i didn't like this one as well.

Staying in Copenhagen, at the end of September
I'm staying at Copenhagen at the end of September (21st - 28th) and had my eye on staying at the "Copenhagen Strand"-hotel, they've unfortunately desided to raise the pricest since I last checked, so I would like to ask you if you could recommend me a place to stay (price around. 100 USD per night, or in the whereabout of 600 DKK per night). Would be nice if it was close to "The Strand" too.
If you've got any recommendations (links possibly), don't be shy to share info ;-)

Found a pretty good deal on these hotels
Hey, I surfed a lil, found a couple of cheap places to stay ("Ibsens Hotel" @ visitcopenhagen.com), and "Hotel Christian IV" @ expedia.com).
Does anyone have any experiences with those places ?

ibsens hotel is a nice place in a very good location, right by the lakes and next to norreport station.
Ibsens compared to The Squares
Thanks for the quick response, you wouldn't know how "Ibsens" compares to "The Square", I've read multiple good reviews about "The Square" here at VirtualTourist.com and since they're (almost) in the same price-range I'm wondering which one to pick.

i would go for the square then.
it is slightly better than ibsens in my opinion and is very centrally located.

Just returned from Copenhagen this last weekend.
i would go for the Strand!!!
Real nice hotel and in an excelent location.
Close to everything and quite enough in a very nice part of town.
Maybe keep an eye in any promotion, or last minute from them.
If i had more time, and after being there, that would be my choice.
Apart from this one, The Square seems nice. (dont really know too much)

go to the beer museum "carlsberg" it free to get in and you get free beer!! always refreshing.
