Savoy logo from our bill by Ewingjr98 I stayed at the Savoy Hotel from 13-17 August 2000. It is one of the less expensive hotels in the city. It is on the western end of the central historic district, just a few minutes walk from Tivoli Gardens, and a little further to the Stroget and Christiansborg Palace. We walked to all of the major attractions in the city including the Kastellet, about a 30-minute walk, on the other side of town. The hotel is also very conveniently located right beside the train station, providing easy access to the airport and to several easy side trips by rail. The Savoy is an older hotel without much charm. The rooms were very small with two twin beds crammed in tight. The tiny bathroom looked like an afterthought... I really believe it was added many years after the hotel was opened. Their view from our room overlooked a narrow side alley and a few dirty rooftops. Though the location was good for sightseeing and travel, it was in a poorer part of town with some dirty side streets and a few raunchy strip clubs. We paid 640 Danish Kroner per night for double occupancy back in 2000. That is about 86 Euros (US$ 105). I have seen rates as low as US$90 on Expedia.com, however Fridays and Saturdays tend to be more expensive (up to US$130 per night). We made our reservations at the airport upon arrival in Copenhagen. In a nutshell: great price, central location, kind of seedy. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averagePhone: 3326-7500Other Contact: fax 3326-7501
