Villa Rosa: An accomodation experience out of the ordinary!

If you want to experience a very special place to stay in Aalborg, you should stay at Villa Rosa. It is in fact not a hotel, but rather a very special Bed & Breakfast - but there is much more to it than just that. The best way to describe to place is like a "boutique hotel", very small with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere and a very personal service. All the rooms are kept in a style which could best be described as " Rural English Mansion Style" with a lot of fine decour and furniture. The rooms have different names such as "The Flower Room", "The Bishop's Room" etc. Situated in a villa which has survived being placed in the middle of the busy city centre. The villa was build in 1873 as a house of honour for the brother of famous philosopher Soren Kirkegaard, P.C. Kirkegaard, who was the Bishop of Aalborg at the time.

The rooms are very different so it might be a good idea to check out Villa Rosa's website at: http://www.villa-rosa.dk. Villa Rosa does little if any advertising on their own so this unique experience is not easy to come by.
With only 6(!) rooms and an appartment it is adviced that bookings be made well in advance when possible. Villa Rosa is perfectly located in a side street, Grønnegangen, just off Jernbanegade opposite Aalborg Theatre. 400 meters from Nytorv and 400 meters from Jomfru Ane Gade and the entertainment area.

While in Aalborg we stayed at...

While in Aalborg we stayed at the YHA. Luckily for us when we were booking the hostel itself was booked out so we were told we could stay in their cabins. Turns out these cabins are awesome. Cute little wood cabins with two lots of three bunks with a table. Right on the water so it would be georgeous in the summer. We had it in winter with the wind blowing a gale outside. When I woke up my first thought was 'I don't think we're in Cansas anymore', it almost as though we had been blown away.
