Main attraction here are a lot of mini world landmarks, like Canals of Amsterdam, Statue of Liberty, Gedächtnisirche in Berlin, Nyhavn in Copenhagen and so on.

A nice elevator kind of thing takes you high up to give you a nice view on the surroundings. It's called Legotop.

"Despite the light rain, we had a great time"

We went to Billund and Legoland at the end of June 2003. It was a grey day, with light rain on and off the whole time we were there. That was fine, as the rain kept us cool, and I guess it kept the crowds away. It was a Sunday, and the park didn't seem crowded. Anyway, Legoland has rides, shows, food, and displays of lego models of places all over the world. The food was expensive, but food is exorbitantly priced all over Denmark, and you can bring your own food in a day pack without a problem. The rides are mild, making this a great place for children aged 3-12 or adults who don't like roller coasters. The shows were impressive, and of course the models are amazing.

"Lines were short"

One of the great advantages of Billund's Legoland is that it is far away from major tourist destinations and population centers, unlike the Legolands in Oceanside, California and Windsor, England. This must help keep the crowds down, even on a summer weekend. Also, this being Denmark, it usually won't get so hot. With smaller crowds families spend less time waiting in line. In fact, if you can plan to visit on a day with light rain as we did, that would be perfect.

"Our children enjoyed the rides"

The rides are mostly quite mild, making them ideal for timid children who balk at the scary rides in larger amusement parks. Our children especially enjoyed the rides where children were able to drive their own little cars. One of these is the Legoland driving school. Our 8-year-old was in the last group of the day, and it turns out that the final cohort of children in the driving school get substantially longer times in their driving lessons. This is partly because they get to park the cars at the end of the day.

Remember that the models stay open after the rides close, so you don't need to rush through the models while the rides are still open. We arrived a couple hours after the park opened and we had time to go on every ride we wanted to try and see most of the shows. If we had arrived when the park opened it would have been slightly better, but we had a great time without having the entire day here.
