Can one use a EurailPass to ride the train from Copenhagen to Roskilde?
yes you can.
it says that a supplement might be needed, but this is only if you are buying a ticket at the ticket window and want the fast train.
the eurail pass covers all trains, both fast and slow trains in denmark.

From the harbour, walk up to the hill behind it where you have a Green with excellent harbour views, playground and wonderful old Danish cottages like the one in the picture. I love sitting in the harbour restaurant and just observe boats and people coming and going and with the odd viking ship thrown in.
Legend has it that Roskilde was founded by this chap called King Ro and that he built a little town around a spring he liked very much. Well, he subsequently named the town after himself and the spring as "kilde" means "spring" in Danish.
In reality of course, this story is little more than hogwash. Roskilde was founded by another chap with a more hip-sounding name, King Harald Bluetooth, in the 990's. Then again, Bluetooth Town sounds more like a place in Silicon Valley right? I'd rather take in the legend anytime...

When you go to Roskilde you should bring some good shoes for hiking. In Roskilde you'll have to walk a lot and a part of it will be on cobblestones or in parks. Running shoes would be perfect for this type of location!
