nice youth hostel by the harbour.
roskilde youth hostel is located right on the harbour next to the viking ship museum and makes a perfect place to stay if you want cheap and central accomodation.
the hostel is very new and all the rooms have attached bathroom.
Unique Quality: first of all it's location right next to the viking ship museum.

Good accomodation near the Viking ships
I havent stayed at the hostel because I have family living in town, but I've been inside and know they have good standard.
Unique Quality: It is right next to the Viking Ship Museum and the harbour.
You can have a good Danish breakfast.

Interior of Roskilde Vandrerhjem
Here's a picture of the spacious double room. Though spartan, it's clean and it comes with an attached bathroom with hot water.
Unique Quality: Do remember to clean up with the provided broom before leaving. That's the common courtesy that's expected of all backpackers there.

Roskilde's best accomodation deal
Roskilde's lovely modern hostel looks like an extention of the Viking musuem . The lovely interior, though spartan, is also clean and new. So new that I could still smell the fresh pine scent of the walls.
The lovely lady who ran the hotel, was very friendly too. Efficient lady, she accepted my email booking way before I was in Denmark and was visibly excited when she met me as I was the first Singaporean to stay there!
Unique Quality: Hostel faces the ocean. Fantastic views during sunset and sunrise. Also, a stone's throw from the fantastic Viking musuem. The kitchen serves a hearty breakfast in the morning too...
