Alley to hotel by Dr.Styranki Excellent location for visting Old Town of Tallinn, the Opera house and town's all central shopping centers. The hotel is hidden just next to the main road leading towards Old Town. Good thing in this hotel is a lobby area and main entrance backyard, they are very pittoresque. The rooms are very small and there is no frigo/minibar/trouser presser, room service etc. -rather curious for a 4 star hotel. Maybe the stars where received before Perestroika (sorry for my expression) times with some arrangements. The story of Potemkin village pops up lively into mind. Same notion with the acoustic insulation, the rooms simply are chicken boxes without any acoustic insulation, you can without problems hear next room's telly or the noice from breakfast room to a 2nd floor. The worst thing is that unfortunately the good location is generally acknowledged by the Finns, who prefer not to keep the low profile in the hotel. There can be a rowdy group of drunks or a a family 60 -year celebration in a hotel, where the full family prefer to stay at room, drink cheap booze, discuss yell, sing, battle and weep until 4 a.m.
Excellent location No sound insulation, the walls are paper thin The hotel is accompanied with the bar or pub where pale-faced Finns sip their mandatory Irish Coffee with extra price. Ideal passage to the main street.
