2nd hand clothing stores in Estonia?

2nd hand clothing stores in Estonia?

I am looking for a shop selling second hand clothing in Tallin, and other cities in Estonia. These shops are often called thrift shops, or second hand shops. They sell clothes for 2, or 3 euro, good clothes, just 2nd hand. If you know the name of these shops in Estonia, or specific addresses where to find them, please let me know. Thanks

In Tallin, find the railway station and then follow the footpaths over to the other side of the tracks, away from the city. If you see people going in that direction just follow after them. There you find a Soviet-style bazaar selling second-hand EVERYTHING, including real Soviet military clothing/equipment and ....... surplus Nazi paraphanilia! The place is unbelievable!

There's a Humana shop in the very centre of Tallinn, Narva road, there are also several second hands in Kuressaare, right next to the central bus station.

You can find second hands also in Eastern Estonia in town of Johvi and Kohtla-Järve. Names of shops can be XXL, "Odavad riided", "Kasutatud riided".

Travel Tips for Tallinn

Toompea - a bit deserted at night

by reenby

Toompea is the hill citadel in the middle of Tallinn, and a great place to explore.

Sadly no-one seems to go up there at night, so its lovely to wander around in the moonlight, but not the place to go to eat. We did visit one restaurant one evening, and although the food was delicious the restaurant was more or less empty - which does put a dampener on the evening.

The city "in your pocket"

by Stevieboy

One of the first things I tend to do when I get to Tallinn is to hop into a bookstore and buy the excellent "Tallinn in your pocket" city guide.

These little books are filled with very up-to-date and useful info about anything you would need during your visit. And the best part is that they are really cheap (only 35 krooni or about 2,30 euros). "In your pocket" guides are updated every two months, so they are really up to speed with all that moves in Tallinn.

On their website you can download a free short-version of the guides. Go and have a look!

Stupid Me! I always thought...

by sabsi

Stupid Me! I always thought the languages of Finland and Estonia look so alike, they have to be very similar to each other. But they aren't!! I was actually surprised to see my Finnish friend talk English in Tallinn...

Viewing Point for churches

by gubbi1

Well, it is not off the beaten path, more at the very center. You will find a point on the square in front of the city hall of Tallinn. From here you can see all churches of the old town. Some maybe only a very glimpse, but it is possible. The guide showed it to us on the city tour.
