Right in the Centre

Meriton Old Town Hotel is a small place right in the Centre. The rooms are small but clean and with all the necessary facilities, including complimentary coffee and tea. My room even had a balcony. the breakfast was nice and with good variety and served in the small bar/restaurant. The staff at the front desk spoke perfect english, and since the reception is at same time the bar, you don't have any problems ordering drinks or snacks. I didn't use the bar though, because i prefered to go out to town.

Unique Quality: The main quality of the hotel is its location, right in the walls of old Town but also only a 5 minutes walk from/to the harbour.

Right on Raekoja Plats ~ Center of Old Town

Another fairly new addition (2004) to Tallinn is the Meriton Old Town Hotel. It's foundations are literally rooted in history! Built on the very foundation where the historical city wall's "Rentern Tower" was originally built from 1340 - 1355, the tower itself "perished" in 1880. In its place is this nice looking hotel which also is a combination of modern & midieval with its architectural elements drawn from wood, stone and wrought iron. The hotel is decorated in warm, earth-tone colors and the 41 cozy rooms are found in the 4 floors and attic.

All rooms have a shower, and 3 rooms offer a bath. Each room also has a TV and a direct dial phone. All rooms are considered non-smoking. Some rooms may offer free WiFi connections.

Cafe Mademoiselle in the Meriton Old Town Hotel is a spacious cafe that serves light snacks, hot meals and French pastries. Old stone walls combined with modern lighting and furnishings make for a delightful place to relax. Stop in on Friday evenings for piano music from 6 pm to 9pm. Also pies are half price during the last 2 hours the cafe is open!!

Unique Quality: This hotel offers an outstanding value for the price--breakfast and tax included along with its superb location in Old Town. Singles run about US $84 and doubles US$102. The Cafe Mademoiselle is a definite plus for Other shops and restaurants, taverns and coffee shops are right at your fingertips! The same is true for all of the major sites of Old Town Tallinn!
