The hotel is not even in the VT database yet, so I assume it is indeed very new. Nordic Hotel Forum is located in Viru Väljak, in the busiest traffic hub of the city, at the entrance to the old town and right opposite Viru Hotel. However, the building seems to have excellent windows because it is quiet inside and in the room you hear practically nothing of the street noise. The location could not be more convenient. Several public transport lines stop in front of the hotel. Post office and shopping centers are next door. To the old town it is a walk of two minutes.
Unique Quality: Rooms: huge, spotless clean and comfortable. They have air condition - I could not really figure out why. We came to three answers: a) to block street noise, b) to keep mosquitoes out, c) to attract that type of guests who believe air condition is necessary in a climate where maximum temperatures hardly ever exceed 25°C.
Breakfast: a huge buffet with about everything any European might want for breakfast.
Restaurant: very good food and moderate prices. Check out their special offers. When I visited they had a "summer express" menu, consisting of salad, main course and dessert (choice among 4 varieties for each course) for 125 krooni (8 €).
Bar: Avoid during the weekends if you don't want to meet drunken Finns.
Service: no complaints!
