Lower and Higher town
by sihi
Old Tallinn has a lower and higher part, because one part of the old town is situated on the hill.
It makes Tallinn more unique. So people settled here in middle ages.
Getting to Higher town is not difficult to find two watching-platforms what are connected by old road and are located on the stone between walls of houses under the Lower town.
From the watching-platforms picturesque view opens to the Lower town-to it?s towers and streets and also to modern towers of downtown.
The Viru Gate

The Viru street leads you through the Viru gate to the Old Town. Unfortunately there's only two towers remaining of the entire gate. This scene is facing opposite from the Old Town towards the famous Viru Hotell.
WiFi

As a lot of people know in Estonia and Tallinn it's very popular internet. So places of Wifi are really everywhere... all the petrol station, a lot of bars, pubs in city, some parks, some "grass" (just in front of main Tourism Office of Tallinn), there are always possibility to connect to interent for free even in small villages!
Alltogether around Estonia are 1109 places of wifi-area! (not so bad for 45,000 sq.km), in Tallinn 358 places. I add also adress where you can check exactly (if it's for free or you have to pay some small money for all the day ~1-2eur)!
And don't forget to bring your laptop with you when you're coming back to Estonia!
Warm Hat
by grandmaR
We were on a cruise ship so we didn't have to worry with luggage. But I have heard that one reason that cruise ships don't leave from Estonia is because the airport is not able to handle the luggage of cruise ship pax. So don't bring a lot of luggage Do bring warm clothes and sturdy walking shoes. Even though it was mid June, my granddaughter did not have enough warm clothing to wear, so I got her a sweatshirt and she bought an Estonian hat. In this picture, I'm wearing a thermal hood, a turtleneck and a lined raincoat (it was overcast and looked like rain). She's wearing one of the only two pairs of long pants that she brought with her for a 3 week trip.
The Streets of Tallinn
by mydreamquest
The parks and pathways that make up the borders of Tallinn's Old Town are peaceful. Within the peace is aggressive driving and then the modern development of this vibrant city.
Tallinn in early September is like all dreams that one recalls in peace.
