Great clean and tidy place. Friendly staff. Rooms with own bathrooms, or dorm rooms with bathrooms in corridors (which there are plenty of and all clean). The place has a nice little bar (1GBP for a large bottle of beer) and the kitchen will do you a tasty traditional dinner very cheaply if you require at around 5-8pm (around 4GBP for soup and dinner). Breakfast adequate - continental style and always plenty of tea and coffee available.
Fantastic building dating from 1912. Designed by the Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen . I think that it was originally the German/Danish Consulate. Redgroup's studio apartment by lordcroker I was pretty impressed with the quality of accommodation offered by this company not to mention their attention to customer service which was second to none. They arranged for a taxi to collect me from the port and deliver me to the apartment....free of charge. Nele, was available to give advise and help with anything I wanted to know and the apartment was spotless and very comfortable. The rate was good too. Cheaper than a hotel or some dodgy room near a strip bar!! Top Marks!!!
The location was 5 minutes walk to the Old town square but in a quite street which meant good nights sleep and being on the top floor of an old building...meant views of the port, too.

Scandic St Barbara by nhcram Good clean hotel on the outskirts of the city but only a 5 minute walk. Quiet location. Very good breakfast of hot and cold food set in a beer cellar. Waitresses dressed in local dress and were attentive.

I stayed at this hotel, located just outside the official boundary of the old city of Tallinn... I found the hotel quite reasonable, although I believe I had the smallest room they had... It was called a double room but the bed was actually a bunk bed and there was no private bathroom in the room... But it was very close to the entrance to the old city...

Barons Hotel in a newish place in Old Town just steps from Olde Hansa restaurant and Raekoja plats. It is located in an Art Nouveau bank building that has been completely renovated. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room ( we stayed in the Junior Suite) was quite large and well appointed. There were nice touches, such as real potted plants, and a very nice baby bed was brought up for our two year old (He of course didn't use it). The bathroom was rather small, and there was no bath, a definite negative when you are traveling with a toddler. But overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely
An antique elevator, Art Nouveau touches in the rooms, great views (at least from our room), parking is available, and an excellent location Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensiveAddress: Suur-Karja 7 / Výike-KarjaPhone: +372 699 9700Directions: In Old Town near Olde Hansa restaurant. You can't miss it, really. It is also located next to the "Bar with no Name" a rather infamous pick-up joint, and several sleazy-looking strip bars with gaudy neon signs. Welcome to Eastern Europe!Website: www.baronshotel.ee

This seems to be the most poplar plave among travellers to stay while in Tallinn. The best thing about it is definately the location - it is right next to the main square in the Old Town. The surroundings are beautiful and it is just a short walk away from all the main sightseeing places in the Old town. There are also several nice and cozy restaurants and cafes nearby. The hostel has been recently renovated and thus it has really good and new facilities such as a fully-equipped kitchen, showers, bathrooms etc. The rooms are really nice and clean and rather cheap as well.
The most outstanding thing about the hostel is the location - clean and nice surroundings and right at the heart of everything. There is an internet cafe right around the corner and a tourist office around another corner :) Since it is the most popular place among backbackers it also offers a great oportunity to swap some info and tips with the others. The owners are also really really nice and helpful. It is truly the number one place to stay when in Tallinn!
