Alexandri Külalistemaja: Low price and comfortability - it's possible!
If you don't want to spend your money for sleeping, but anyhow require service-minded friendly staff and a nice room, this is your place. The place looks very nice already from outside. It is made of dark reddish brown tile/bricks. In the next door there is a restaurant for having a lunch, dinner or a dance. It is a good place to see locals dancing the local traditional dances (not very young people, not a disco).
We took the suite with sauna and paid something like 50 euros for it!
Unique Quality: Good price/quality ratio.
Nice suite with own sauna.
Location (even if don't want to walk, taxi is unbeliavably cheap).

Hotel Pallas: Hotel Palas
Hotel Pallas is located in the centre of Tartu, close to the bus station. The most important sights of Tartu, Vanemuine Theatre and Vanemuine Concert Hall, several shopping centres and entertainment venues, Aura water park are in the vicinity of the hotel. The staff at the reception is very friendly and always ready to help you.
I really enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to you;)

Pepleri 14, University Hostel: Best cheap lodging in Tartu Center
The rooms are simple and clean with ensuite bathroom and shower. The price at around 250eek a night is worth it for the location right up the street from the main theater.

Hotell Tartu: Hoste and Hotel at the same place!
We had some problems to find a cheap accomodation in Tartu, so we finally decided to go to a bit more expensive hostel, but we really did the right choice!
We stayed at the "hostel-floor" of the Hotell Tartu, in a triple room (bu we were just in 2), just close to the public bathrooms. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean, new and we really cannot complain about anithing.
The Hotel is right in the centre of Tartu, inside a modern building, just 5mins from the main attractions in town.
The price for a hostel room is about 19 euros each (300EEK)

Rändur: Guesthouse
Located in 15 minute walk from the centre of Tartu near the railway station. Also you will find a caffe near the hostel.
Warning: Don't take room No. 3, as the shower has very bad ventilation. All your towels will be wet all the time.
