Private accommodation is the best accommodation option in Ohrid (the hotels are quite expensive). Everyone rents room and lots of people will approach you immediately at the bus station.
I stayed in Mrs Jelena Janusevska's appartment. She lives in another one in Ohrid and rents this one which is situated in a new appartment block, on the bus station but the windows look the other way so it's quiet.
For around EUR 6,00 you get your own room with your own kitchen and shared bathroom (with another room).
Central location, extremely cheap accommodation (would pay much much more for it because it is excellent), your own kitchen...

Although there is that "lux" in the name of this hotel, it is nothing special, on the contrary, it is a totally average place. Not large at all, it has only one relatively small restaurant and one snack bar. There is a spatious sun terrace outside but during cold and rainy weather it's useless. I cant complaint about the service since everybody is extremely kind and polite. Rooms are rather small, there is not enough space and my biggest complaint is about the food. Nothing special and always cold since they put everything on a large table and since there is no chance of keeping the food warm or hot, one must catch the moment when breakfast and dinner start. If you rent a room , you have to pay around
8 euro , per person for a night in PICK SEASON ( July & August ) .
Out of season is around 6 euro.
The rooms are clean , well equipmented aaanndd if it's out of season you'll get rooms
with GREAT VIEWS .

Hotel Millenium is one of the newest and best hotels in Ohrid. It's situated on the town's promenade towards the end of the lane, overlooking the breathtaking Ohrid lake.
also their in house restaurant is one of the best, and prices are more than affordable. Once you visit, you will come again and again.
The facilities in the hotel are from the heighest quality, they have indor pool, and many more also house doctor ,wich is somewhat unusual in MKD hotels. The location, the view and its relative closeness to the town. It has recently been renovated and the rooms I saw were air-conditioned and very comfortable.

With its name written only in unforgiving Cyrillic, the Hotel Riviera is an old communist favourite. Today it is popular with visiting Serbian tour groups, who can be prone to party to turbo folk until the early hours. The good thing about the hotel is that it is cheap, clean and has fantastic views. The suites at the front directly overlook the lake, and the front side rooms have balconies with great views too. Even those stuck at the back get to look out over old Ohrid.
It suffers from typical communist era foibles, like ill fitting curtains and bizarre half-size cotton sheets as small at a hand towl. I had to steal the bed sheet from the spare bed to have a cotton sheet to lie under. The cleaning lady soon got the idea and began tucking it in for me after she brought new sheets. Maybe I started a new trend.
The staff are friendly, the breakfast is big, but it can get a bit noisy, especially under the terraces at the front. But this is typical of all central hotels in Ohrid.

I can't recommend this home for 2 reasons. I have no idea what the address is other than "on the hill above Sv. Sophia" and the bathrooms were not up to any of our standards. Next time we'll look there as well as out the window before "buying" :)
