Just desserts!
The restaurant itself isn't anything special unless you get a table with a view of the lake, but the food is good national cuisine. The "palascintas" or dessert pancakes with chocolate! The word is Hungarian, but the meaning is YUM!
For 4 years we as a family are coming to Ohrid.
This specially because of the nice fresh air, no bugs, cool night and warm days. Also the lake is the best in the world for us.
For this time, beginning of June 2007 we wanted to try the so called Hotel 5 stars Inex Gorica.
The price was very expensive but we heard about this hotel many times trough the media.
Now here our experiences:
Breakfast reasonable but VERY bad coffee and tea, the omelets and sausages were cold!
Service slow and non French, English or German speaking waitress!
Now the room:
In my camper I did have better sanitary equipment as the filter down at the shower was lose and full of hair in 40 different colors!
The toilet paper fell down together with the holder
When my son or wife leaves the room and takes the plastic electronic key the electricity is turned off!
Cable TV ? Just a message NO SIGNAL on the screen!
Inex Gorica suppose to be renovated but the door from the bathroom is old and the nails can be seen and full of marks!
At night the terrace and the hotel is like a horror movie as we were almost the only guest and there is no entertainment what so ever, no live music, no activities besides a loud projection TV in the bar tuned in to the local program, nice for the bartender!
At the end of our stay we wanted to talk with the manager of the hotel, a snobby lady called Mrs Bar. She told my wife if she is not satisfied with the hotel to look else ware and that is what we will do for sure!
Unique Quality: Nice view over the lake and nice park but no light at night!
Beach is nice but dirty but there are over 200 stairs to reach the beach so not for disabled persons!
Directions: 7 km from the city of Ohrid
Hotel Gorica is set above Ohrid lake in a park-like setting shared with a villa that belonged to Tito -- and now used by the Macedonian president.
Unique Quality: The location, the view and its relative closeness to the town. It has recently been renovated and the rooms I saw were air-conditioned and very comfortable.
.
The picture is of the side of the hotel that faces the lake -- the inset is the small outdoor cafe that overlooks the lake.
Directions: On the road to Sveti Naum. You have two chances to turn in, which is good as the sign isn't enormous!
This four-star hotel is located approximately 4 km from Ohrid. Its capacity is 260 beds in 116 twin rooms, 10 single rooms, and 4 suites. It offers an aperitif bar, restaurant with national and international dishes, terrace and an indoor swimming pool. Within the hotel compound there are also terrain for basketball, handball, wallyball, soccer, and billiards as well as table tennis rooms within the hotel.
Unique Quality: This is the best hotel for you, if you want to be near to Ohrid centre, and near to beautiful beaches

I am returning to Ohrid next summer and plan to spend one week at Hotel Millenium Palace, a great hotel where we stayed for a week last summer, and a week at either Hotel Granit, or hotel Klimetica.
Can anyone tell me more about these last two hotels? Food quality? Noise? etc. Are there sunshades/umbrellas on the beach at Kilemetica?
We had a bad experience at Hotel Bellevue last year with dreadful food and extremely noisy parties every evening till midnight, so we don't want a repeat of this experience next summer.
Hi,
I can't comment on those hotels you asked about but we stayed at Hotel Gorica in Ohrid May 2006.
Apart from a few business guests staying for a conference, this hotel was rather quiet during our stay, which was great. It's right on Lake Ohrid and has its own private beach. The staff were very attentive; for all it was quiet they kept the beach bar open - we were the only guests using it and they could have made us use the main hotel bar.
Our rooms overlooked the Lake and standing out on our balcony of an evening watching the sun set was so beautiful.
Food here was good and very cheap. All staff gave 100% and made us very welcome. We would definitely return to this hotel.
