View from Dal Met Fu Hotel, Skopje by antistar A fantastic hotel with a great location, great rooms, great service, and great views of Makedonija Square, the old Stone Bridge and the Kale fortress beyond. The rooms are delightfully furnished, large, comfortable, and with free wi-fi access, and even a connected PC in the bigger rooms. Downstairs is a fantastic and very popular restaurant... ...and therein lies the only problem with the hotel: it's as noisy as hell. If you want to get to bed before 1am, forget it, unless you can sleep while people chat, eat and listen to jazz music below. They close at midnight, but the stragglers and the scraping of tables and chairs as the staff clean up will ensure there is noise until at least 1am. Still, it is a great hotel, and great value, and perfect if you want to spend the night on the town and don't care about getting up early for long hikes into the wilderness. by Jasen71 Hotel 7 is a friendly family run hotel where the staff are very helpful and proud of Macedonia. I had a single room with air conditioning/cable tv/ en suite bathroom and a burek for breakfast for 30 Euros a night.... Hotel 7 has 7 rooms and 2 apartments they also have secure carparking.
This Hotel is located dead opposite the main Hospital, and is a 12 minute walk to the old bridge. The staff are great, and the breakfast arrangements quirky (the bakery below gives you a burek). For the traveller, businessman or tourist alike this was the best Hotel for the money I had come across in Skopje. This four- room- hostel is located near the bashcharshija, not far away from Bit Pazar. Its beds and sanitary are clean. The washroom and toilet is across the yard. May be most recommendable in summer. The keeper speeks also some English and Turkish. Likes Japanese and Muslims best as guests. 5 Euro per night in 2005 Nearby, there may be other small hostels for less than 10 Euro per night. Try it whith Nokevalishte Shar. Really, don't let you rip off whith hotels costing more than 20 Euro!

Wonderfully located nearly immediately on the central square of Skopje (near Stone Bridge), Hotel Jadran is a good find! This hotel is truly Balkan with cathedral ceilings, bizarre wood work, large rooms, ancient amenities, and tall windows! Though the rooms are a bit run-down, the Hotel Jadran offers its guests a GREAT location for a great price. There are also a few free parking spaces (otherwise drivers have to pay 0.50 Euro cents per hour to park). Staff are very friendly, but don't believe them when they tell you that the breakfast (included) is "good" -- it isn't. Consider Hotel Jadran the next time you find yourself in Skopje.

We were expecting the best hotel in the city, and when we entered the central hall we had our expectations confirmed. I have also seen many hotels where the lobby is impressive, but the rooms are very basic. This was not one of those. The rooms at the Aleksandar Palace have all you expect from a 5-stars hotel. One thing I find annoying in most high-class hotels is that they hide the stairs, and the guests must use the elevators even if they need to move one flor up or down, so I was very pleased when I saw that in this hotel there is a beautiful staircase of shiny marble, which I used all the time, except when arriving and leaving with the luggage.
I appreciated very much in this hotel the fact that although modern and grand, the architect managed to give it some local flair with the rows of arches overlooking the central hall, evoking the architecture of old monasteries. Hotel Kapistec is a cheap but good place to stay during your stay in Skopje. For about € 20,- per person a night you have a room for two or three. The beds are not always comfortable, but the breakfast makes it more than good.
The breakfast is various and tasty. You can choose your own time to have breakfast. The staff speaks German and some English as well. Take bus 57 out of the citycentre to the west and ask the driver which stop is near Hotel Kapistec.

Hotel Kapistec, Skopje, Macedonia. by planxty Although describing itself as a hotel, this is really just a B&B. It is adequate and spotlessly clean, but nothing special. In fact, to be honest, it's a bit frayed round the edges. It's about a twenty minute stroll from the centre of the city, situated in a pleasant suburb under the Vodno mountain. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as a supermarket and a MacDonalds, if that's your thing. If you don't fancy the walk, there is a regular bus service on the nearby str. Ivo Lola Ribar. The lady who runs the place is extremely friendly and has some English, although her French is considerably better. Breakfast is the typically European cereal, fruit juice, bread, cheese and cold meats affair, but you can eat as much as you like, which gives you a good start to the day. In a town where hotel prices are comparatively high, it's a good budget place to stay.
