I never stayed overnight, but I listed the tourist office address and phone number if you wish to do so!
Probably nothing cheaper than $40 a night.

Unique Quality: Hamina was founded in 1653, when Finland was a part of Sweden. Built to protect what was then the border between Sweden and Russia, Hamina is encircled by almost two miles of 300-year-old fortification walls. The old Town Hall stands in the center of eight radial streets, giving the town center an exceptional layout. The town's unique circular plan and the ramparts date from 1722. One of the most popular tourist activities is to walk through the city to experience old buildings, museums, and the fortress area.

Independent walking tours. Folders are available at the Hamina Tourist Office.

How to get there: Buses leave from Platform 3-5 at the Helsinki Bus Station for Hamina. The ride is 2 1/2 hours.
