Cheap hotel in Helsinki
Hotel Fenno is situated in Kallio, about 2 kms from the city centre. You get there easily by tram and even by walking.
Fenno is really basic and not so modern, but considering the location it is cheap. I stayed there one night this year and paid 55€/single.
Breakfast in Fenno is not so good :)

Q: Do busses run to the airport 24/7? If not, what time do they start? "I need to get to the airport by 6 AM on Sunday (so I probably need to get on the bus around 5:30 AM), will the 615 or the Finnair..."
A: "I walked down to where the 615 departs from but I didn't see any type of time-schedule listed anywhere. :/"
