Cheap and simple
This is not really so nice and luxorius,but it´s cheap.Once we got a double for 49e!
It´s not in the center,but easily reached by"ratikka".Sorry-don´t know English word-could it be a tram?Anyway..
We went nighttime with a taxi to the hotel,and it was 15e if I remember it right.

Cheap and good basic hotel
I stayed in Ava for a couple of nights in June and it was well worth the price. Room costed 42€/twin for a night, breakfast was additional 5,50€/person. (Breakfast was not really worth the price, though)
Ava is situated a short distance from the city centre, but it is easily reached by trams.

If you are looking for the cheap one go for it. Not so far from city centre.

Hotel AVA
Unique Quality: This hotel is situated in the northern part of Helsinki and is very easily accessible either from the airport or from the downtown. The rooms are rather like apartments. They are well-equipped and comfortable. The price of a triple room (that's what I stayed in) is 375 FIM per night. I guess that makes it a budget accomodation compared to Finnish standards and by all means it's a good value for money.

Q: Do busses run to the airport 24/7? If not, what time do they start? "I need to get to the airport by 6 AM on Sunday (so I probably need to get on the bus around 5:30 AM), will the 615 or the Finnair..."
