    The Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel is in a great location -- on a quiet side street near the main train station. The room was large by European standards, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was terrific. Also, there is a combination safe in the room which is a big convenience.

    The lobby is very nice -- and they have computers with free internet access for hotel guests.

    Since no trip to Finland would be complete without an experience in a Finnish sauna, I used the sauna in the hotel which was provided to guests at no extra charge. It was extremely hot (as a sauna should be) -- and I sweated profusely before taking a cold shower.

    Breakfast is also included in the price of the room -- and what a breakfast it was! There was a great selection of hot and cold food. The only negative was that it was very crowded. Actually, this negative turned into a positive because I ended up enjoying my breakfast at the same table as a lovely woman from Italy who was in Helsinki on business.

    There is a large bar in the hotel -- and it was very crowded during my weekend stay. On one evening, I ended up drinking and chatting with some interesting and friendly patrons from Norway, Denmark, and Russia (luckily for me they all spoke English) until well past 3 a.m.

    This hotel is in a great location, just behind the railway station in the centre of the city but in a peaceful corner. So, if you are a night tiger, this hotel will be just perfect for you.

    This hotel next to the Finnish National Theater is very centrally located , but in spite of its central location, it's very quiet.
    The rooms are elegant and surprisingly large and the bathrooms are gorgeous, with heated floors. Satellite television, dial-up Internet connections and minibars in the rooms.
    The lobby is cozy, with quick coffee service for those who do not have time for the very good - as in most hotels in the Nordic countries - breakfast.

    Most of the staff speak English as fluently as Finnish.

    And it is very close to everything. Within walking distance there are a lot of restaurants, cafes, and cinemas.

    The Finnish National Theater is built in a national romantic style - in front of it a statue of Finlands national author Aleksis Kivi made by Wäinö Aaltonen just next door.
    The Uspenski Cathedral, only 800 metres from the hotel, is said to be Western Europe's largest orthodox church.

    Other places such as central railway station 300 m, Ateneumare art museum 200 m, Lutheran Cathedral 500 m, Stockmanns 500 m, Kiasma 500 m, Senate Square 500 m, Parliament Building 600 m.

    • Top class 4-star hotel located close to the railway station. We could only afford to stay here because their special summer rates were nearly half the normal rate.

    The rooms were large (if a little dull) and comfortable, with excellent en-suite facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, although on a couple of busy mornings it was a few minutes before we could get a freshly laid table.

    Overall, excellent value for what we were paying (€99 per night for a double).

    • Arrived late in the evening on a business trip for a week. Check in was quick and easy, the (standard) room was very big, extremely comfortable bed and pillows, minibar, tv and the shower was great - walk-in and powerful!

    One complaint - bloody nightmare to get taxi's in bad weather, there is a taxi stand just outside the door and you have to wait in the cold queueing for them.

    The architecture in the dining room was very interesting, not something I normally notice, it had a very (nice) overwhelming feel.
    The location of the hotel couldn't be better, right next to a cinema, nice restaurants, lots of shopping and the huge central train station.

    • Stayed here 3 nights in 2006. Standard room, standard hotel. Good location just off Rautatientori square. I would stay there again.

    The crystal bar is very nice for a pre-dinner drink with its curtain of crystal beads.

    The rooms were warm and large - I had a business class room with sauna; excellent facilities overall

    the hotel has been used as a location for one of the story lines of the Finnish soap opera "Secret Lives" - excellent dining facilities

    Very very nice, common areas better than standard rooms (which have a little bit old feeling), superaltive bar and very cozy restaurant/breakfast rooms.
