A Good Hotel
I was there for only 3 days. The cost of the room for 3 nights was 397 Euros.

Radisson SAS Royal
Modern, slightly odd design hotel. Usual Radisson-SAS high quality, but ever so slightly out of the city centre - about 10 minutes walk from the main station. Great in the summer, but in the winter you might want to try somewhere a little closer to the centre.

The perfect choice
I couldn't be happier of having chosen this hotel for my stay in Helsinki. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but what don't in Finland? Why not trying an amazing and typical free sauna in its spa? I got a business suite and the room was HUGE and very modern designed, with movies included and extra bath amenities. The room was on the top floor and had a rounded and huge window overlookin Kamppi. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful and spoke many languages as the guests were from all around the world.

Radisson SAS Royal Hotel
A bit far from the city center, still this is a very nice, luxurious yet not expensive beautiful hotel. Superb spa!!!!

Helsinki city center
A very modern and clean hotel in the Center of Helsinki which was constructed in 1991
Unique Quality: A few hundred metre from the central bus park and not a lot further from the SAS bus terminal for regular departures to and from Vaata airport. An ideal location for shops of all types in the area

My second home when in town!
I never cease to be impressed with the facilities of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly, restauarnats are good. I enjoy the sauna which never seems to be busy, but is hot when required. The picture shows the exterior and note the flags - especially my own one "The Saltire".
Update:
I have stayed in the hotel many times over the last few years - and it has changed a number of times. Some time ago - the bar area was refurbished and is now much more modern in appearance. They also created a breakfast room instead of using the bar area unless totally necessary.
In more recent years they changed the main restaurant area and renamed it "Grill It" - have a visit to www.grillit.fi and see what the menu looks like.
As I have noted they have made several changes - and the most recent is a slight name change - it is now the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel.
Unique Quality: Located opposite the Kamppi Centre, finished after a few years of construction. The hotel is close to many city centre amentities and museums. Including the Tennispalatsi where there is a multiplex cinema, the City Museum of Art and the Museum of Cultures.
There is a guest sauna and a business centre.

there's also one on fredrikinkatu, between the crossroads of fredrikinkatu/pohjoinen rautatienkatu, and fredrikinkatu/arkadiankatu. can't remember the name of that one for the life of me, but it's aroundabout number 50-54. it's just next to a ski shop, and a local supermarket called Alepa, and near to the big cinema complex Tennispalatsi.
