Nice base to explore Helsinki

This hotel I would recommend to everyone who visits Helsinki. It is is very pleasant hotel with good facilities.
To visit Helsinki, just walk along the harbour into town, or take a tram which is close by.
Also take a tour around the coast and enjoy the harbour activities.

I used it both for business stays as well as for family stays. For both situations the hotel is very suitable.

Unique Quality: Try out the great sauna. Also the restaurant provides you with quality food for a reasonable price.

Good Location

Stay here 2 night in July 06 and hotel is in walking distance of small boat harbor and cruise ship terminals and shopping.Very good breakfast and wireless internet in rooms.Room was small but clean and bed was fine but slept on better in other hotels Staff was helpful with information and directions on how to get where I needed to go.Price was about average for peak summer seasonI would stay here again

Very nice hotel, rooms are big, there's a lot of space to use.

Breakfast if bouffet, so just get hungry and eat :)
Price is not that expensive, but if you are going to spend few days in Helsinki, i suggest to take the chance to rest there.

Hotel is located in a nice area, really close to the harbor and some nice monuments.

Helsinki's Worst?

Bad value for money. Being on a business trip for 3 days I paid EUR 169,-- per night for a very small room with many standard features for a business traveler (e.g. room safe) missing.

The worst: upon arrival there were no towels at all in the room and it took 20 minutes until I finally got them. Not nice if you arrive at half past midnight after a long travel day and want to get some sleep before your business appointment. Even worse: hotel staff didn't even say a word that they are sorry .....

In general the room was very small and rather shabby. The bedding was smelly. Bathroom fixture was fallen down and put on the soap tray.

I have been to Helsinki on business trips many times and never before experienced such poor quality combined with lacking willingness to compensate the hotel guests for obvious underperformance of the hotel.

From the largest warehouse to a Grand Hotel

This was a wonderful hotel-finished in 1992-converted from the Warrant House as a warehouse built in 1912- very nice and helpful front desk- wonderful huge buffet breakfast and very modern-internet access in lobby

Unique Quality: Great views of the cruise ships coming in and out-can watch the pigeons from your bedroom windows-in June-the sun never completely goes down-a little darker for a few hrs.

wide range breakfast -city center location

Good location, only 10 mins walk to Esplanadi streets.

Absolutely one of the best western breakfast I've had when staying in hotels all over the world. By this I mean that they have a wide range breakfast, enough staff to take care of the selection and to clean the tables.

They promise the lowest prices at their own pages and this is true. We paid for one double room, two persons, incl taxes and 2 breakfast 60 euros in total. Not bad? But this was an offer they had.

Last time stayed there: Jul 08.

Unique Quality: They offer bicycles to lent but there are only few of them so ask if you can book them on previous night already if you want to be sure that you'll get one!

Luxury Hotel

The Grand Marina is situated right accross the road from the Nordic Jet Line seacat terminal that goes to Tallinn, and looks out into the Baltic. Don`t forget to ask for a sea view when booking. Rooms are very comfortable & in a Scandinavian style, ours had a motorised skylight blind & a ladder you have to climb up to open the window !
Hotel has 3 sauna rooms & a modestly sized gym with most of the usual equipment.
There is a nice bar / lounge area, next to the restaurant. The food is superb, try the reindeer followed by home made blueberry ice cream.....yummlicious !
There is a long terrace outside, great for enjoying a drink on a sunny day, behind the array of bedding plants, with a great view accross the sea.
Price was reasonable for quality of hotel & I highly recommend a stay here, excellent.
