The rooms are fairly standard Holiday Inn rooms, not huge, but fine for a weekend break.
The rooms appear to have undergone a recent refurb, and all had internet access points, and satellite TV.
As most Holiday Inns do, the hotel offers a pillow menu, to give you a good nights sleep, and the beds were very comfy.
The rooms were spotlessly clean.
The bar, whilst somewhat expensive, was nice enough, but did not open on the Sunday we were there.
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, and even offered us free tickets to the local Ice Hockey game when we checked in.
The proximity to the station makes this a great base for exploring the city. The hotel is located near the university, so there is an eclectic mix of bars nearby, which we found very friendly.
The hotel has a rooftop sauna, which we did not get to use due to it being booked for a private party, however it did offer views over the Tampere Skyline.
If this hotel has a downside, it is that it is abour 10 minutes walk from the main shopping / theatre / bar areas, but dont let that put you off.
