Aleksanteri Church
by Pomska
Aleksanteri Church is situated near the Stockmann department store. It's called the New Church because it was originally built to replace the Old Church which was the most important place of worship in Tampere. The building is Neo-Gothic and the name comes from Tsar Alexander II. The church has gone two through two large restoration processes and now it's restored again.

Tourist Information and Orientation
by Airpunk
Tampere is well-quipped for tourists with an excellent tourist information office in the train station and a small branch at the airport. The city branch even has two computers where you can have internet access for free. However, you are friendly asked to give space to other costumers if you are using a computer for a long time.
Maps are available for free at the tourist office, but even when it is closed, there is no problem to orientate yourself in Tampere. With exception of the parks in the Northwest and Southwest, you’ll usually not be farther away than 15 minutes from the Tammerkoski. Signs for important places are found everywhere in the city.
1st cup of coffee
by Lalique
Finally! We are in Tampere! The weather is great and we are ready to explore the city but 1st of all.... yeeesss! coffee!
The 1st cup on Tampere grounds, hmmmm, strange but coffee here doesn't differ from that in Helsinki.....
The best choice to have a 1st cup of Tampere coffee is to go to the cafe Strindberg which is on the ground floor of Scandic hotel, which is in turn, just accross the road from the Railway Station.
