Heureka Science Centre in Vantaa
Vantaa is actually the name of a river, at whose mouth the old city of Helsinki was built in 1550. There's a couple of nice spots where you can walk along the Vantaanjoki and watch its meanders, rapids, abruptly changing speed or, in winter, partly frozen surface.
One is at the junction of Road n.3 (the motorway to Tampere) and the Ring III. That's where I took the pic.
Vantaa is... and it does exist! Helsinki-Vantaa international airport is situated on the citylimits of Vantaa, almost in Tuusula, but not quite. It defenately is NOT in Helsinki!
The aereal view tells it all- not much of a city... But then in Finland (Helsinki being the biggest) there are no real cities.
Vantaa lies north from Helsinki, borders connecting. It's original name was Helsingin pitäjä, later Helsingin maalaiskunta and now Vantaa. The main airport of Finland, Helsinki-Vantaa is situated here.
