Korholan Kartano: Sleeping well in an old manor

The atelier manor "Korhola" is a wonderful choice for those not wanting to sleep in faceless cold chain hotels in block houses.

If you are romantic, or interested in history or architecture - or just beautiful manors, this is for you.

The place is located in a very small town called "Rautalampi", in the Savolax area.

I strongly recommend you to take a look at their web pages - they have awesome pictures there. Unfortunately the link is only in Finnish, but you can see the prices and the pictures. For the most beautiful pictures, go to the link "tilat" (=premises).

The old fashioned manor style furniture was maintained and not replaced by modern stupid faceless things. I loved those empire-style white-and-yellow tables, walls and chairs in our room.

You can have a sauna for 5 euros, also breakfast for 5 euros. Staying overnight is really cheap though very comfortable.
