I am desperately seeking very cheap accomodation in Lahti between the dates of 29 July 2009 and 3 August 2009.
Maybe some exchange ..that is I stay with you and then later you could stay at my home in England.
Anyone got any ideas...please.

What do you mean cheap? Finland is not any cheap but not very expensive either.
Anyhow, if you couldn't find any hotel for reasonable price, you can try the camping, www.herrasmanni.net or www.mukkulacamping.fi

I love to read. I go to the library at least once a week, but mostly more often than that and I never fail to find something to borrow there. I admit I am oldfashioned and prefer finding information on anything from books rather than from the net. I love to cuddle in my bed with a book and forget the surrounding world. I have read ever since I was three years old and I see no end to it.
The new library is part of so called cultural centre (others are theatre and adult institute) and was finished in 1990. Designed by architects Arto Sipinen and Mikko Tainio.

Check out the surrounding lakes and forests, since the city itself is highly boring. The nature is the most gorgeous thing this place has to offer. When I'm away, I miss the clear lakes and the forests in the countryside surrounding Lahti.

If you like to see some culture, go into the New Congress and Concert Centre Sibelius Hall. It provides you the opportunity to enjoy concerts by top Finnish artists of light and classical music in outstanding acoustic conditions, always meeting the exact reguirements of each music performance. There are many beautiful places in Lahti... you just have to ask and i will answer.

Diva!!!!!!!!!! It's the best place tohang out on Wednesdays and Fridays! Sometimes on Saturdays as well. But you gotta be 18! Well I guess I miss my family and friends of course... I like the people in Lahti.
And snow of course... Diva...High Hill...
