Visit the 'One For the Road '...
Visit the 'One For the Road ' football team. Pori is a small place and you will have no problem in finding this irish bar. Whats amazing is that the bar is owned by an Irish guy called Sean from Limerick , nice guy too. Great to go to an Irish bar which looks as ***e as the ones back home, no wooden floors here mate. Anyway Sean decided to get a football team together to play against other bars in pori. I remember being in there on a Friday night with the team. Quite an interesting group of chaps , anyway in a typical Finnish way things started quite soberly and then after a couple of hours the winger and the striker are about to strangle each other, something to do with formation. Looking at these guys formation would'nt have made much of a difference , about as relevant as tactics in a female mud-wrestling match. I'd reckon of the 11 people on the team 10 were chronic alchoholics , can't comment on the other chap cause he was'nt there.
MEDIEVAL CHURCH IN ULVILA....
With its' 12379 inhabitants Ulvila is a decent sized town only 9 km southeast from Pori. Ulvila's roots go further in history as Pori's, since it was founded in 14th century (Pori on 16th cent.).
Ulvila's most valuable historical sight is the medieval church built in 1332 and still in use. It's really beautiful so in case you're nearby, do drop by :)

Walk around the centre admiring old buildings and the old wooden houses.
I took this photo when Pori Jazz festival was on and there are a lot of stalls on the riverbak. The tower you see in the pic, belongs to the Old Courthouse designed by architect C.L. Engel, and was completed in 1841. The building nowadays houses Pori Regional Development Centre, Pori City Tourist Office as well as a charming restaurant called the Old Courthouse Cellar Restaurant.

There is a park for kids,...
There is a park for kids, called Pelle Hermannin leikkipuisto. Pelle Hermanni is a Finnish fairytale character (a clown). The park is not an amusement park, it is more for playing; swings and climbing frames.
