Scandic Rovaniemi

Highly recommended.

The hotel was good in various aspects. Not difficult to find, considering that we walked from the railway station in winter, with three little kids. Good reception services. They got free internet too.

Unique Quality: I was actually fed up by the fact that all hotels would allow only a maximum of three persons in a room. So I wrote to the hotel, telling them that I got three small kids with me, and it's not a pleasure to have to split the family into two rooms. Fortunately the reply was very positive; it was from their HQ I guess. They got us booked one room for the five of us, at EUR 80 per night.

No need to mention, as usual, when I have the oppurtunity I do stay in this Scandic, especially when they offer me a double room with sauna for two including breakfast :)

Unique Quality: At the city centre and free hotel parking.

Unique Quality: Our rooms are located around the Atrium restaurant. Rooms have views either over the restaurant or over the city. Standard rooms are comfortable and are equipped with everything you need: TV, minibar and bathroom with shower. The second floor of the hotel has non-smoking rooms and is also suitable for allergy sufferers.

* Private sauna with Jacuzzi (in superior rooms)
* Children's playroom next to restaurant
* Santa Park theme park + Santa Claus Village about 8 km
* Ounasvaara skiing centre about 3 km

Directions: In centre. Just one/two block(s) to Sampo-aukio...depends on how you count :P
