Snowy Rovaniemi in January 2005
Rovaniemi and especially Ounasvaara fell is a beutiful place to visit in the winter. The Sky Hotel Ounasvaara on top of the fell is very good and nicely situated in the middle of the snowy forests where you can go skiing, ice skating, snowshoe walking, snowboarding, tobogganing...
This is where we went snowshoe walking and it was -17C. That means your hair will freeze, your eyebrows will freeze, your shoelaces will freeze... It's possible to run into reindeer here too, but we weren't that lucky.

This is where the slopes begin - on top of Ounasvaara fell. Very beautiful at night when you can see the lights of Rovaniemi from here. This is also where the Sky Hotel Ounasvaara is.
