Not much to carry, just the essential...
There is only one horse riding company which goes through the national park. The guides name is Yorma and will take you throught the most amazing places. His with does the cooking - native food (very yummy!)
The horses are nice and used to the hard work of the trek 5 - 7 hours a day
We were in Kuusamo with Estonian best nature photographers of 2007. We saw many "must see" things like nordic lights, Kuukkeli, poro, orange stones, waterfalls, hills with high view to lakes and forests, we saw even Russia...
Here we are, on one of the highest hills in Finland (we do not have any mountains here) - in the Ruka fjeld (mountain top 492m), a skiing center. Ruka is a quite famous skiing center in Finland, with 29 different slopes and 19 lifts - usually open more than 200 days per season (2006). Actually the picture has been taken in very rare conditions - no any other skiers to be seen around!
Ruka is located actually very close to city of Kuusamo.
