We arrived into Strasbourg later in the evening via car and visited the city the next day so it made sense to stay at a cheaper hotel on the outskirts of town instead of trying to navigate the city, thanks to Dee (balhannah) for the tip on this place.
There's currently a lot of construction near the hotel (as of September 2013) so follow the hotel diversion signs, the Comfort Hotel is the only one here so the name is not listed on the diversion signs. The parking lot was full when we got there but there was an overflow lot next door. The hotel is not really within walking distance of the city center, I think I read it was a couple of km but without a map it would have been interesting to try to get to town. There is a tram within a few blocks, the Montagne Vert station is on both the B and F lines and you can take it into the center for 1.60€/3.10€ round trip.
We booked on booking.com for 45€ for the one night
Unique Quality: We were very satisfied with the hotel, it was easy to find off the highway, it was very reasonably priced and it was comfortable. The bed was reasonably comfortable, the room adequate size. Tea and coffee service in the room, breakfast was an extra charge so we passed on it. Free wifi in the room.
The shower was fine, soap in a dispenser on the wall. There was a hair dryer in the room.
I chose this Hotel for several reasons. Firstly, we were driving to Strasbourg, so we wanted a Hotel not in the city centre and easy to get to, this one fitted the bill, and it had FREE PARKING. We could leave the car here, and take a short walk from the Hotel to catch the Tram, very convenient.
Booking in was fast and easy, plus the gentleman at reception spoke English. He gave me a map, with the Hotel marked and marked the short-cut to the Tram.
Our room was small and clean, it included desk and chair, somewhere to place our case on, TV, Hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The shower room was small, but hot-water was good. The Hotel is situated at the end of a no-thru road and beside the river Ill, which we could view from our window. As it was in this situation, we had a good, quiet night. If the weather had been warmer, we could have sat outside in the outdoor area.
You can walk into the city centre by following the walkway alongside the River. I must admit the river wasn't very attractive here.
FREE WIFI WAS INCLUDED.
We didn't have breakfast here, that was an extra cost, but if it was anything like our dinner, it would have been good.
We had a good stay and would return again.
Little bit far from centre, because you can´t walk straight all the way to town, as we thought, but not too far for walking anyway. When we came back from town at night, it started to rain, so we took a taxi. It was 11e from Petit France to the hotel at midnight.
Staff was very friendly, expesially the old man, who maybe owned the place.
Parking was free, breakfast wasn´t like in most France hotels.
WiFi was quite slow to use.
We paid 45e for the room for two.
It was little hard to find first-we thought we are at the wrong place, when there was no good signs, but we just belived at the map we printed at the hotel-page, and it was there.
Directions: Little out of centre. Maybe an half an hour walk.
There is a short cut from the hotel to Tram station - only 2 minutes by walk. And with Tram, either line B or line C, you can arrive city center within 10 minutes - just 4 stops!
Unique Quality: Cheap! But still very clean and comfortable.
