by mangifii

Does anyone know what day (or days) of the week is market day in Strasbourg? (outdoor market/farmer's market/food market) We'll be there for a short visit in July.

Thank you.

Travel Tips for Strasbourg

See the City from a Tour Boat

by Ujamaflip

Tour boats depart regularly from Place du Marche aux Poissons, and take you around the rivers and canals of the city. They provide a great vantage point to see most of the cities sights, and learn a little of the history.

Place de la République, Prefecture

by JLBG

I have not found any information about this building that is now used as a "Prefecture". It has been built between 1870 and 1914 as all the other buildings on the Place de la République. Actually, it is both the Préfecture of the Département du Bas-Rhin and Préfecture de la Région Alsace (Départements du Bas-Rhin et du Haut-Rhin)

Christkindelsmärik in Place Broglie 3

by JLBG

Though Alsace produces mostly white wine, it is very seldom offered as Vin chaud. This booth is the only one that I have seen that offered regular Vin chaud (red), Vin blanc chaud, Jus d'orange chaud (warm orange juice) and bière chaude. My advice is that regular Vin chaud is the one that tastes better!

Mittelbergheim, 37 km...

by bratsch

Mittelbergheim, 37 km south-west of Strasbourg, is one of the prettiest wine-growing villages in Alsace, not in the Hollywood-Christmas style of Riquewihr - the real thing. I can recommend the Winstub Gilg for a solid meal (washed down with some of the local Sylvaner) and I have heard that the hotel rooms there have been renovated recently.

Minitram

by Fam_Stoica

Strasbourg’s Minitram gives you the possibility of making a pleasant trip to discover the heart of the capital of Alsace. In 50 minutes, you will discover all the charms of the typical parts of Strasbourg with its narrow lanes as well as the Petite France quarter, the Covered-bridges and the Vauban Dam.

The station is located in Place du Chateau (near the Cathedral).
