See the folklore museum to see...

See the folklore museum to see how ordinary Strasbourgeois/Strassburgers lived in times past. Visit the cathedral and note the half-timbered architecture of the city. Try some delicious coq au vin--made with Riesling! There's a great synthesis of France and Germany here, so it's appropriate that part of the Euro-bureaucracy was located here, in the borderland of the two original anchors of the European Union...
St Pierre Le Jeane (protestant)

The chyrch is situated Quai Kellermann. In 1031 begins the construction of the present church on the site of a merovinginian chapel dedicated to Saint Colomban.
It was consecrated in 1053 by the Alsatian pope L?on IX. The present Gothic church, former college, kept the basis of the bell-tower-porch and some walls of the Romanesque building.
Gutenberg
by Bjorgvin
The main square of the city is Place Gutenberg named after the famous inventor of movable type. Johann Gutenberg (d. 1468) lived in Strasbourg for more than ten years (c. 1430-1444), and it is generally accepted that he developed his invention there. But Gutenberg was from Mainz, Germany, and it was not until he was back in his hometown that he became able to install a printing shop, which was the beginning of it all.

Fantastic Seafood Platters!
by Ujamaflip about La Mauresse
I was recommended this restaurant by a friend who lives near Strasbourg, and after trying their delicious food, had to recommend it to all of you too. Specialising in sea food, there is a host of different dishes to choose from. We chose the Plateau La Mauresse, and where overwhelmed when they brought out a giant platter of ice garnished with oysters, crab, mussels, cray-fish, snails, etc...
The interior, whilst pleasant and well decorated, doesn`t have the character of some alsatian restaurants. Nevertheless, the food makes up for this. The service is professional, but friendly and not pompous - if you can`t work out how to get the snails out of their shells don`t be afraid to ask!
This restaurant is highly recommended for all seafood fans out there. The Plateau La Mauresse was fantastic (see the photo). This was 68Eur for two, they also have another one (La Plateau Royal) for 100Eur, don`t know what that is, but sounds special!
