"La Collégiale Saint-Thiébaut"
I came across Thann quite by accident while on a motorcycle holiday in 1982. I had read about the car collection amassed by the Schlumpf brothers at their warehouse in Malmerspach. While en route to Malmerspach I stopped at the town of Thann for a coffee only to find out the car collection had been relocated to Mulhouse. I was a bit angry with myself for the detour until I stopped to look at the wonderful church.
Started in the 13th century and completed 200 years later in the 15th century it is tall and slender and not typical of French ecclesiatic architecture at all but shows strong influences of nearby Germany.
