There are miles of golden sand and the combination of sea air and sun is like a mild sedative. If you are staying longer or want to do more - pick up a brochure from the Tourist Information office (right by the train station).
Arcachon has many activities to offer, including; bird watching, boat trips, golf, paragliding, public gardens and various water-sports. THE SAND DUNE! :-)
Sorry but for me it's local custom because I've never see so many sorts of this. Small seafood, medium seafood, big seafood, white ones, grey ones, snailes with right spiral, snailes with left spiral :-) and so on and so on...
I was here to see sand - the highest sand dune in Europe ~ 102 meters high, 2.7 km wide slope ~ my first time.
Amazing !
There is an outstanding view around le Bassin d'Arcachon from the top of the dune.
Its such a nice feeling on top, where one can just lie on the sand (so incredibly soft and powdery) and take in the views and feel the wind.
