Bel Air Camping: Bel Air Camping
We stayed at camping Bel Air, near Crayon, which is not too far from Arachon.
Not the best facilities and the only other people who were here were single men who were living there long term.
All that said the owner of the site was very welcoming and jolly.
There is a severe lack of decent campsites open in France out of season. We probably would not have stayed here had there been a choice in that area.

'Camping Club D'Arcachon' et 'Camping de la Dune`: UNDER CANVAS
We stayed at two campsites; 'Camping de la Dune' and 'Camping Club D'Arcachon'. Both were situated in wonderful surroundings and were inexpensive.
Camping Club D'Arcachon
This is the only campsite located in the town centre, just within a peaceful pine forest. It is great site for looking around town and the staff are friendly and quick to offer help or advice. You can hire bikes from the reception which you could use to visit the sand dune and surrounding area. For more information Tel: 05 5683 24 15, Fax: 05 57 52 28 51.
Camping de la Dune
We stayed right at the foot of the sand dune for two nights at the above campsite. There are bus services to the campsites along La Dune du Pyla, but not on Sunday out of season (as we discovered). It's best to have use of a car.
