The Atlantic Ocean is the must for seeing. It's bay exactly where are some sailors villages but in any case it's the ocean. Unfortunately I have been here in January and it was cold to swim :-) but my friends told me that here a lot of people have a sun bath or swim in summer.
Get on your bike and have a cycle around the coastline. We accidentally got lost and ended up across the bay in La Teste - near some oyster farms, it was much better than an organised tour!
We hired our bikes at the main campsite in Arcachon - Camping Club D'Arcachon (Tel: 05 5683 24 15).
