We stayed in July 2008 during the Roxy female surf festival,
some of the rooms were great, but one at the bank whilst quiet had been inhabited by a keen smoker.
Hotel is recommended, pleasant staff, and very popular, and very close to all the action.
We paid about E67 per night for a double room, no breakfast.
Compared to Hotel Marbella, slightly smarter, in all the action, on a narrow main street down to the only swimming beach of Biarritz, at E100 per night, Argi Eder is definitely worth while
Unique Quality: Top tip, if staying in a room at the front of the hotel - getting more sunlight in the morning, open the window and close the external shutters - makes the lie in so much better.
Directions: On a one way road
This hotel is small and offers few "extras" other than a continental breakfast but the staff are friendly and helpful - they had the guide books out almost as soon as we arrived and gave us all sorts of useful advice. Our room was originally two rooms so we each had a bathroom and a beautiful window with wrought ironwork (through which we could just glimpse the sea!). It was an easy (but steepish in places) walk to the beaches and into town and there are many, many places to eat nearby and also a great market. This is a budget place to stay but very comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay at the Argi Elder again.
