I will be in Biarritz for a week from 1 October mainly to surf and have some questions as I've never been there:
- Will it still be warm enough to go to the beach? I know it's impossible to answer this question as the weather could be bad, but if anyone could give me a general idea...
- Any good tips for friendly bars/places to hang out and meet other travellers/friendly people
- Good tips for clubs?
- If anyone from VT's gonna be there at that time do they want to meet up for a beer or something?
Would apreciate any tips really.

The weather last year was good enough for surfing, but that's not a guarantee for this year.
There's surfing from the main beach in front of the Casino and it will be quieter at this time of year.
In the high season, Anglet - (you can see the beach if you stand at the lighthouse facing out to see and look along the coast to the right) - is pretty lively, but in October many of the bars etc close.
There are bound to be other surfers about who can tell you where the latest "in places" are.

oh yeah from what I've heard their is pretty good surf through october, the air is probably a bit chillier though. I've been to Biarritz once before during july, great surf and chilled out night life aswell. So that's why I'm gonna head over there again this summer to surf, but planning on staying long term june - october at least. Haven't yet found any place to crash/live but working on it. DO you happen to know any place to stay, or perhaps need a room mate? depending on how you're gonna live. Got any ideas? anyway... could grab a bear! peace

This is pretty cool. It's kinda like "Extreme Raquetball" but with some basket attached to a guys hand (chistera) and a ball that they throw at 300 KM/H (the FASTEST BALL GAME ON EARTH!) against a wall...and..well.. I didn't quite get the rules, but they make it exiting..

The beaches of Biarritz are wonderful, suitable for surfing. Just on the visiting day (11.7.2004) there was a big surfing competition, NOKIA BSF (by the way, Nokia is not a Japanese or Korean name, it is Finnish, and Nokia is a Finnish company, at least untill now).
Many famous persons come here for holidays, royals, pop-stars, etc. I was lucky to meet Marilyn...
