La Grande Plage s'est d'abord appelée Côte des Fous, puis Côte du Moulin et enfin plage de l'Impératrice en 1858. Débaptisée en 1871 après la chute de l'empire, elle prit alors son nom actuel.
L'une des plus belles et plus grandes plages de Biarritz, qui s'étend du nord au sud de la baie entre l'Hôtel du Palais et le Bellevue.
C'est la seule qui aît conservé des tentes de toiles colorées (il n'est plus obligatoire de s'y changer depuis 1930 !), que l'on peut louer, même à la journée.
L'idéal est de se rendre à pied à la Grande Plage située au cœur de la ville. Deux parkings souterrains peuvent vous accueillir (sous le Casino).

Du 15 juin au 30 septembre, M. Maurouzel, Hall du Casino, Grande Plage Tél : 06 12 23 20 77 The Big Beach was first called Coast of the Mad, then Coast of the Mill and finally beach of the empress in 1858. Renamed in 1871 after the fall of empire, it took its present name then.
One of the more beautiful and bigger beaches of Biarritz, that spreads from the north to the south of the bay between the hotel of the Palace and the Bellevue.
It is the only one that aît preserved of the colorful canvas tents (it is not more obligatory to change itself of it since 1930!), that one can rent, even at the day.
The ideal is to go on foot to the Big Beach situated to the cœur of the city. Two underground parking lots can welcome you (under the Casino).
