hey guys, I'm in my last year of school now and I'm thinking about go on a work and travel trip to France next summer / fall. has anybody ever done this before in Biarritz? Or else, does anybody know local businesses that need seasonal workers, especially in tourism? thanks for your help!

Hi there. You will need to tell us what your citizenship is before we can give you much advice. If you're an EU citizen, it is much easier than if you are not. You could post it on your Virtual Tourist Home Page or just put it here as a reply. The rules vary according to your citizenship . . . as they do everyplace else.

Too true. If you are a non-EU citizen don't take a chance on working illegally. Check the the rules very carefully. I spent three weeks in the region recently and the local news was full of items concerning illegal workers and others being deported.
Also, if you don't speak French, your chances of getting a job are very much reduced even if you successfully clear the paperwork hurdles.

Totally forgot to say I'm an 18 year old Austrian, member of EU. I've had French in school for 4 years and spent half a year in a French speaking family, which means the language shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for your responses so far!

The town

The town of Biarritz is very beautiful, and even to some extent enchanting. It has a very cozy feel to it, with cobble stone streets, large courtyards, and small open front shops, and restaurants lining the street.
I would suggest a walk through will stopping to dine on some local cuisine along the way.
