Biarritz Airport
by earlcebu
If you are travelling to this region , please be aware especially those who are not white coloured like me that the airport immigration control personnel
can be racist . I've travelled extensively all over Europe and this was my worst experience . I was the only asian on the flight to Biarritz that time and I was prejudge as being terrorist or maybe an illegal immigrant , even though i was holding a valid travel documents. I was on hold for more than 30 minutes before i was allowed to go . On second occassion , on my way back to UK , I was on a check in line full of European and suddenly 2 personnel came to me and asked me to bring all my things inside the room , while i was there , I was interrogated and searched but they found nothing . I was the only non white and the only person searched on that flight . All I can say that the Biarritz Airport employs IGNORANT and RACIST personnel not like in Paris where I never encountered such behaviour.
La légende de Biarritz
by Klod5
...Biarritz...

Biarritz is an amazing little French town on the bottom of the south-west coast of the country, nearly bordering Spain. It is filled with beaches and surfers which automatically makes it one of my favorite places to be! Biarritz is filled with beautiful sights and beautiful people and is a great summer retreat for many. It has some spectacular coastline and shopping streets and is an amazing place to spend some time relaxing and take in a beautiful sunset!
"Before and after..."
Before going to Biarritz, I hadn't really heard much about it less the fact that there was a beach and it was apparently home to some of Europe's best surfing. After backpacking up north in the rain of the spring, this was enough to put a simle on my face! No matter what the weather was going to be in Biarritz, I was determined to be wearing my flip-flops. Luckily, nothing about Biarritz (including the weather) disappointed! I think overall, Biarritz is one of my most favorite surprise cities. I didn't expect it to be nearly as beautiful as it was and it is one of those towns that has just the right mix of things to do and places to relax.
"More information..."
Biarritz is nice because it can accomodate anyone. From high class hotels to hostels, everything is available and everyone can share the same beaches in then end! Biarritz (and the neighbouring village of Anglet) have some amazing surfing and boards can be rented from a varitey of places along the beach. There are also countless restaurants and bars in which you can take a meal or a drink as a break from your time in the sun! I wouldn't go to Biarritz expecting a lot of museums and culture but relaxation, beaches and beautiful views can certainly be anticipated!!
