More about Wilson Hotel
Good stay
by TripAdvisor Member mandy77777777
We stayed at hotel Wilson for the first three nights of our honeymoon and we were not dissappointed.
First off we had intended on taking the train to the hotel but got completely lost and didn't want to waste much time as we were incredibly tired so we took a cab. The cab ride was quiet short and definately worth the money as another poster wrote. It only cost us 32 Euros to get to the hotel Wilson.
The hotel is in an old building but is completely redone inside with modern decor. We stayed on the fifth floor. Our room was quiet small by american standards but definately clean and livable for 3 days.
The staff at Hotel Wilson was extremely helpful and spoke good english. The included breakfast was quiet good with lots of variety. no hot items tho.
There is quiet a bit of choice for food right in Asnieres. We often went to the casino to pick up items such as wine, baguettes and cheese. We also tried the american Pizza around the corner and it was very tasty...
One con was we ended up renting a car and had to pay 8 euros for parking as there were only 3 or 4 spots for the hotel parking that never seemed to be open.
The commute time to the city was very fast to Gare st Lazare... Would I reccommend this hotel? definately would I stay there again? probably not as I think I'd like to stay a little closer to all the action...
Great Value will go again

Just back from Paris stayed at the Hotel Wilson and found it excellent. Yes the rooms are small and so is the lift but your not there to spend your time in them, the beds are comfortable and the rooms spotless.
As mentioned before if coming on Eurostar get a Paris 5 day visit this allows travel on all trains buses in and around Paris about 26 euro.
At Gare du Nord walk to the end of the station do not leave the station head for the Magenta Metro line, which is right at the end.
Go down the escalator look for trains to Gare St Lazare, at St Lazare go out of the Metro station to the overground station SNNF which is right behind the metro. Just walk along the platform looking for the train to Asnieres this is the first stop once you have crossed the Seine. At Asnieres go out the main entrance walk up the road straight in front right by the de Gaulle statue and I think its 2nd left 5 minutes total walk.
Word of warning Paris is expensive make sure you have the Wilson breakfast, help yourself as much as you want for 8 euros.
Loved Paris and the Wilson am planning to go again even at 7 euros for a pint of beer.
Enjoy.

Thanks Goodness for Asnieres

I read all of the reviews here and elsewhere and I'm glad I stayed at the Hotel Wilson. The staff was friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to see that we had a good time, and their good English was appreciated since my French was non-existent.
The rooms were exceptionally clean as all have said and daily maid service was provided (but bring your own face towels). The breakfast buffet was great and we enjoyed the convenience of simply walking downstairs and preparing for our day.
Loved the fact that the train station was right around the block and that we felt totally safe in our comings and goings. We also loved coming back to the village after days spent in the city where it seems you are always on edge from the big crowds and hectic pace. Like Austin traveler said below, I could have easily stayed in the village once I had seen the main sites of Paris.
There are also a couple of good restaurants right around the corner from the hotel: walk to the corner and turn right for a small French Bistro that was delicious and turn left and find a little Italain restaurant- Sole Mio, which was also very good. The restauranteurs were all very friendly and spoke enough English in order to help you order.
All in all a great little place to stay. I will definately return.
Very nice hotel

We got a very good deal for this hotel. We booked through Expedia for 3 nights and got a night free. The hotel is modern and the room is clean. The staff speak good English and are happy to help.
We didnt get the Paris Viste pass (many people from previos post suggested this price though). Instead, we got the 1-week pass - carte orange, which is cheaper and cover unlimited ride in metro, RER, and the SNCF train (at least the one to the hotel). Just make sure you have a passport size photo with you when you purchase the pass.
Taking the SNCF train to Saint Lazare is convenient, the trains come every 10 -15 mins.
perfect for what we wanted

Hotel is in a lovely little suburb, with some great bakeries, supermarkets etc so was perfect for picking up breakfast, lunch etc. Only 10 minutes from Paris by train followed by a 2 minute walk to the hotel. Trains run every 10-15 minutes, make sure you get the SNCF from the top level of Gare St Lazare (not the metro) and exit the station under the clock. (You can use your Paris Visite card (18 euros for 3 days in zones 1 to 3)). The hotel is signposted from there. Room was spotlessly clean. Tiny - but we were only there for a weekend and just wanted somewhere to sleep so it was perfect for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English - sadly I speak little French. And being able to leave luggage after checking out was very useful. The area is really quiet. Windows open wide so you can get fresh air in, plus there is a fan. MOST OF ALL - CHECK THE BAKERIES ROUND THE CORNER OUT!!!
Fantastic Value!

The Hotel in only 2 minutes walk from the train station and then 7 minutes on the train into Paris. So easy! trains are really frequent and on time and they run until 1am. Hotel is very clean and rooms are a good size. Breakfast is good and staff are helpful! there is a lovely French Restaurant around the corner from the hotel, definately worth a visit. I will stay here again and will reccomend it to anyone!
Good location, good price - not the Best Ever

After seeing all the fantastic reviews we booked in here for 2 nights for our stopover on our way home from Provence.
Getting to the hotel is very easy - don't be put off by the fact it isn't next door to the Eiffel Tower or 1 minute from L'Opera etc. The location is excellent and Asnieres is a decent suburb (although there seemed to be a lack of restaurants).
The hotel is a budget place so the noise levels are a bit high, the walls are a bit thin and the room was a bit small. It was however clean, safe and all round I would recommend it.

This was a great find for our 2.5 yrs in Europe, everytime we have been to Paris it has been the hotel of choice. They respect loyalty and the prices are very good for what you get.
Book on line and get a great breakfast included.
Get the Paris transport Visitors pass 7.50 euro per day for all you can travel.
The guys at the front desk are fantastic. once you have the navigation from Gare San Lazare sorted Paris is your oyster
from a great little launching platform.
Rooms a little small on the first stay and with the Police station noise from next door when they came off night shift dis wake us up early. Other visits we were given better rooms a little larger
and welcomed back with meaning.
The Casino supermarket is the best, the little Brassiere opposite the Railway station also good value for money.
Should Improve Customer Service

Although the staff where friendly and the breakfast was excellent, we had an incident that the hotel staff didn't seem to be at all concerned about. My partner and I were lying in bed in the late evening, the door abruptly opened and another couple came through into our room claiming that it was their room (as they had just been given the access key to the same room). The other couple retreated downstaires, luckily we were dressed as given the size of the rooms they could have easy seen us in the nip!! The staff never rang up to appologise, I had to ring down to them, and they only appologised on the second phone call (not offering any consolation for what happened either). They didn't seem to comprehend how bad it is to give out someone elses room key - as if we weren't their they would have had access to all our belongings!!! A very scary expeirence indeed.
