We stayed here for one night several years ago - on a whim as it looked so nice and inviting- we were staying in a rented gite not that far away so it was an extravagance too!
But it was a very nice comfortable place to stay in the true tradition of the Logis de France.
It was the end of September, weather beginning to break up and few people about but I think it seemed a bit pricey even then.
Our room was OK and breakfast - well not a lot you can say abouts croissant and coffee..
We have looked at it longingly on all our subsequent visits . It always looks well maintained - in fact looking inside it seems to have had a major refubishment.
Having now seent the website I would definitely stay there again and note that it now has 3 Logis Chimneys and a 2* Hotel Rating.
It is good that a village of possibly less than 600 inhabitants manages to maintain three Logis de France and another on the edge of the village - an indication of the prosperity brought to the village by tourism created out of its terrible recent history. And good to see families enjoying the now peaceful sands.
Unique Quality: Great location for touring the Landing Beaches and almost on the sands.
A good web site - take a look - the whole cast of a popular ITV "Soap" (not my fave) have stayed there - perhaps while filming?

The good thing that this place is opened all the days to visit, all the Governement Buildings in France are really beautiful and worth visiting as beautiful places, it is built in a very beautiful style, and Hotel de la Marine is no exception!
Hotel de la Marine is placed in a big square in Paris not far from the Champs Elysees,
for sure it sounds like a Governement place, and it is made for the Marines *Navy* but it is beautiful French style of Buildings in Paris, and you will feel free to take a picture as the Square is almost empty, few people are walking away, and cars are also far from you!
Great location for touring the Landing Beaches and almost on the sands.
