Horrible Experience
I confirmed my reservation and arrival between 9:30 and 10:30 pm 4 days before my scheduled stay, via e-mail. I received a confirmation reply from the hotel. When I arrived in Bayeux, the cafe/bar that serves as the hotel's front desk was closed, all doors locked. I called the number I had and it went to the answering machine of the closed cafe/bar. Thus, being stranded on a holiday weekend without a hotel room at 9:45 at night. Many phone calls later, I found the last room at a hotel a 30 euro cab ride from Bayeux (60 euros total and an unplanned expense). The next day I went back to Le Maupassant to ensure I would not be charged for the night I could not stay there. The woman was very rude, told me it was not her problem and that I would be charged, she immediately walked away and went back to working at the bar. I showed her the e-mail exchange, she admitted it was her e-mail address but claimed not have sent the response, so "pfftt!". I hope you consider this before booking at this hotel, no one should have to contemplate spending the night on the street on a cold and rainy night, or pay 75 euro for a hotel room that they couldn't stay in because the owner wanted to go home early.
