Hotel Ambassadeur

Great quality at an incredibly reasonable price

We spent two nights at Easter at this hotel - booked over the internet & were a little apprehensive about what we would find... our concerns were unfounded because it was great.

The hotel is on Quai de Caligny in the centre of town, surrounded by a number of restaurants & bars. There's also a large public carpark at the rear (free after 6pm on Saturday until Monday morning) and also plenty of on street parking.

There's a lift so you don't need to trek up the stairs, the rooms are spotless with huge well-lit bathrooms & plenty of wardrobe space.

The continental breakfast is plentiful, fresh & yummy. We liked it so much, we're going back next year!

Unique Quality: The location is fabulous - there's rooms (at a supplement) with a view of the port - we economised & got a standard room... with a side view of the port!!! (room 303 if you're interested)

It cost us just €98 for two people on a two night stay, including breakfast... an absolute bargain compared to the "chain" hotels in Cherbourg which are all on the outskirts of the town in fairly drab areas
